Tech Notes: This tubular k-member comes equipped with Pinto manual rack mounts welded in place. It must be used with a Pinto manual rack as the rack mounts will interfere with stock style steering linkage. Front brace mounts are not an option on this k-member because they interfere with the steering shaft.
Spohn Performance's tubular k-member for the 1982-1992 F-Body Camaro and Firebird sets a new, higher standard of performance and quality. When we designed our k-member, we had several goals in mind.
One was to provide the performance capabilities needed for the toughest race tracks, another was to provide the strength and durability required for the demands of a daily driven vehicle.
Our k-member provides substantial weight savings and frees up a lot of room in the engine bay for our drag race customers, but it also provides the strength, rigidity, and durability for our road race, autox, and daily driver customers as well..... all in one package!

Spohn's tubular k-member features boxed a-arm mounts for maximum rigidity and side load support. Our k-members are gusseted in critical areas to ensure that a weld never breaks. They decrease overall weight, and provide much more room for large tube headers, turbo systems, etc.
Our k-member will accept stock a-arms, or for additional weight loss and performance enhancement we also offer tubular a-arms (click here).
K-members are available set up for stock style coil springs or in a coil over version that eliminates the upper spring perch for additional weight savings. Our jig was built around the factory k-member providing for an exact fit and factory exact dimensions.
Every detail of the factory k-member was incorporated, including brake line mounts (there's no "zip tying" of the brake lines with our k-member).
Build Specifications and Features:
- 1.50" x .120" wall DOM tubing - one piece formed front hoop
- 1.25" x .120" wall DOM tubing a-arm mount tubes
- CNC laser cut and formed 3/16" steel mounts and gussets
- OEM style button head locating pins
- 98-02 F-Body LS1 A/C compressor clears k-member with no modifications
- Motor mounts are designed to clear all 98-02 F-Body LS1 A/C lines
- Welded in a special built rotary jig to insure an exact fit and precision welds entirely in the flat position
- Includes (6) new 12mm Grade 10.9 k-member mounting bolts and heavy flat washers
- Includes all four brake line mounts and new brake line mounting tab bolts and nuts
- Durable and brilliant powder coated finish in your choice of the above colors

Motor Mount Pads: This k-member is for those who are swapping in any LSx based engine (LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, etc.), this version will also
require our Part #971 LSx swap bolt on motor mount bushing adapter stands (click here).
Pinto Manual Rack Kit: This k-member comes equipped with mounts welded in place to mount a Pinto manual rack and pinion. You can choose to add
our complete Pinto Manual Rack
Kit which comes complete with a brand new Pinto manual rack, 6061 aluminum rack mount, bump-steer kit and the complete steering shaft assembly for a 100%
bolt-in and ready to go installation.
4130N Upgrade: The ultimate in bullet-proof
lightweight strength, 4130N chrome moly tubing construction! Same as above, but constructed from 1.50" x .083" and 1.25" x .095" 4130N chrome moly
tubing.
